Day 1: Pandas, Tea & Temples

Day 3: Mount Qingcheng Day Trip

High-speed trains from Chengdu reach Qingchengshan station in about 30–40 minutes; from there it's a short ride to the gate. The "front mountain" is a half-day of forested trails, pavilions and temples — take the cable car up and walk down to save your legs.

With an early start you can pair it with the nearby Dujiangyan irrigation system, a 2,200-year-old engineering marvel. Otherwise, head back for a final Sichuan hotpot dinner. Just remember to specify your spice level — wei la (mild) is no shame.
